Report Designer Test Drive

This Test Drive section is designed to give you some hands-on exposure to the Report Designer Component. These task-specific exercises cover the Report Designer user interface, designing a new report and modifying a report using Visual Basic code. Even if you’re an experienced Seagate Crystal Reports user, you may want to follow through the first two exercises to better understand how the Report Designer Component is different from the reporting procedure you use now.

The Hands On exercises include:

• Open a Report - covers the basics of opening an existing report file and an overview of the Report Designer user interface
  
• Create a Report - connecting to a data source and creating a simple report using the Report Gallery
  
• Modifying a Report - adding some additional enhancements to a report using Visual Basic code

After you have completed these exercises, you may want  to create some simple reports using a data source you are familiar with, or try adding a new report to an existing project that you already have.
